Enhancing quality of life…
with therapy for children and adults

Testimonials

“Our 10 year old son has been receiving occupational therapy at Dearborn Speech and Sensory for approximately four years. He has severe ADHD, an anxiety disorder and sensory integration dysfunction. He has seen mostly one therapist and also received metronome therapy from another therapist. Two years ago our son attended the Summer Camp to learn team approaches and to help with his gross motor and fine motor skills. I can say only positive things about Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center and their services. My son has been able to transition into a 4th grade general education classroom with special education support.”

“Two years ago I was in a serious motorcycle/car accident and spent lots of time in the hospital. When I came home, Dearborn Speech and Therapy helped me with both occupational and speech therapy. During the course of my treatment, I was assisted by two of their occupational therapists and two speech therapists. They are excellent professionals, very knowledgeable and in general, are a very caring group of people.”

“Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center has really made an impact on our son Kyle’s life. Getting dressed in the morning used to be such a struggle with Kyle worrying about how each article of clothing was going to feel against his skin. Now he is dressing himself independently and is so much happier in the morning. He has also improved his strength and mobility skills through the work he has done in the gym. His fine motor and writing skills have also greatly improved. The staff and therapists are friendly and accepting, and we feel so welcomed each time we go for our appointment. Kyle loves going to his therapy appointments! Thank you, Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center, for everything you have done for us!”

“Our son Ali was unexpectedly diagnosed with apraxia of speech at the age of two and a half. It was unexpected for us, because as parents, we though he was fine even if he was only speaking two words by then. We thought he was just a late bloomer. After his preschool teacher voiced her concerns, we needed to get some answers so we came to Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center. He began speech therapy and then it was suggested he do some occupational therapy to help the process along. During this time we learned that he had sensory integration dysfunction as well. After two years of intense speech therapy at the office, he was speaking at what is considered an age appropriate level, and he was also able to overcome almost all of his sensory integration dysfunction issues within three years of intense occupational therapy.

Our son’s progress would have never happened at the rate it did if it weren’t for all the exceptional services that were provided at Dearborn Speech and Sensory. In addition to providing us with the tools we needed to help our son succeed, they also provided emotional support for my family. The staff was always able and willing to answer any questions we had, and the environment at the office was always welcoming and did a wonderful job of meeting our every need. Our family will be forever grateful for all that Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center has done for us and continues to do for families each day!”
