Services: Occupational Therapy

Sensory Integration

Our brains must process and coordinate an enormous amount of sensory input, even to complete simple tasks. Sensory integrative dysfunction impairs a child's ability to play and interact normally and effectively. Our therapists guide children through activities that improve neural organization and the internal sense of direction.

Interactive Metronome

Interactive Metronome is a revolutionary computer-based program that combines the concept of a musical metronome with modern technology to improve a person's timing. Timing deficiencies are at the root of conditions such as ADHD. The Interactive Metronome increases concentration and focus, improves academic skills, and enhances coordination and auditory sensitivity.

Therapeutic Listening

Therapeutic Listening combines the therapeutic benefits of music with sophisticated sound technology to positively impact areas such as a child's attention, behavior, and speech and language skills. Trained therapists design an individualized, structured program of listening that stimulates a child's auditory and vestibular systems as well as interconnections throughout the central nervous system. CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger, former clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics at Michigan State University, CST is a gentle, hands-on method enhancing the functioning of the craniosacral system – a system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch about the weight of a nickel, therapists release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve central nervous system functioning.

Loops and Other Groups: A Kinesthetic Writing System

Loops and Other Groups is an imaginative approach that makes learning cursive writing fun for students in 2nd grade through high school. The program uses movement patterns to teach cursive writing and provides easy-to-remember motor and memory cues that help students visualize and verbalize while experiencing the "feel" of the letter.
